Los Angeles, CA - September 24, 2009 - A month before the October 27th release of their long-anticipated horror film Dead Air, the filmmakers behind the Bill Moseley picture have announced a public competition to generate a poster commemorating the film's world premiere, taking place Halloween Night in Las Vegas at Fangoria's "Trinity of Terror" Weekend (October 31st, 6:30PM show time).

The contest will provide artistically-minded contestants with photos and visual "raw materials" from which they can build their own Dead Air poster.  Contestants are also encouraged to incorporate their own images and photos.  The winning submission will be selected by online voting, which will close on October 26th at midnight.  The winning poster will be printed and displayed at the world premiere screening, and will be autographed by director Corbin Bernsen, and stars Bill Moseley and Patricia Tallman before being shipped to the winning artist.

Dead Air is described as The Howard Stern Show meets 28 Days Later, and follows the plight of a shock-jock radio deejay (Moseley) and his team as a massive swarm of bloodthirsty maniacs races through the city around them.  The maniacs are the victims of a terrorist-released bioweapon created by the US government, but turned against American citizens.

Director Corbin Bernsen, known for his starring roles on TV's LA Law and the current USA Network series Psych, describes Dead Air as "a cautionary tale that's really not all that unrealistic.  The film's horror comes from the reality, the plausibility.  We know that many countries, including our own, are experimenting with bioweapons.  What happens if one of these breaks loose?"

The Halloween screening will kick off a nationwide "radio tour" promoting the film; director Bernsen plans to record eighty live radio interviews over the course of two weeks in early November, broadcasting from coast to coast.  "This is a radio-based movie, so our marketing efforts fit that mold.  Between the radio-waves and the Internet wireless signals, we'll be hitting people on a whole lot of wavelengths."

DVD pre-orders for Dead Air are available now at DeadAir-Movie.com.  The first 1000 orders will receive a free, signed, limited-edition Dead Air mini-poster, autographed by the director.
